Sorry I’ve been gone for so long.
It’s just my time in Zürich is coming to an end and I’m trying to make the most of it. Trying to prolong it for as long as possible.
I had been happy and excited about going back to Edinburgh, especially now that we had found a flat but all of a sudden I’m not.
I feel like there is still so much I wanted to see and do, friends I wanted to meet up with, restaurant and bars I wanted to try that leaving now would seem silly.
But sometimes you don’t have the choice to stay (or it would be very, very silly to stay) and you have to finish what you started.
In my case my degree.
So right now I’m trying to cram in all the things I wanted to do, reminisce about summer AND be excited about going back.
I mean after all I do have a new flat I can decorate!
So here goes reminiscing.
A few weeks ago my best friend and I went for dinner at Lily’s in Langstrasse.
I still remember when I was little and Langstrasse scared me.
Druggies, prostitutes, drunks.
It just wasn’t the place I wanted to be at night.
But boy has it changed.
It’s now become a hip and cool place with loads of restaurant and bars.
It’s laid back and the ideal place if you’re into people watching.
Anyways, the food.
It’s Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and Indian.
You can eat it there, take it away or have it delivered home.
I can’t remember the name of what my friend had but I had a seasonal special called Kanom Jin.
They were both really good. Mine was perfect for a warm summers evening.
It was so much that I couldn’t eat it all BUT that meant I had leftovers the next day.
Now having written this post I have gotten the worst craving for Lily’s.
Maybe I’ll have to call around and see who wants to go tonight…
