As I mentioned in my last post, my aunt and I visited both the restaurants my cousins are working at.
First, for drinks and a little snack we headed to Sassafraz in Yorkville.
The menu is French-inspired Canadian cuisine and the interior elegant and airy.
My lovely date for the evening. You should probably reserve as it can get quite busy.
They have a bistro area with lighter meals (where we were) but also a restaurant.I went for The Brazilian, a refreshing but strong drink. And my aunt went for the Badass Mojito. We shared some charcuterie and the buffalo mozzarella which were both fantastic.
Really want to try and recreate this at home.
The mix of the mozzarella, pomegranate seeds and figs were amazing!
For dinner my aunt and I went to Sauvignon Bistro.
A great atmosphere with fantastic food.
I had the panko crusted aubergine, herbed whipped goats cheese, roasted red pepper, arugula pesto and balsamic reduction.
And as it was a starter I had potato frites and aioli with it.
And oh my! They were amazing!
If you’re in The Beaches and looking for a good place to go eat where the food is fantastic, the prices are reasonable and the staff are super friendly, go there.
