I just came back from spending a week in paradise.
I don’t think I’ve ever felt so relaxed, energised and balanced in my life.
My Mum and I had booked a yoga retreat a few weeks back and we’ve been eagerly awaiting the day to see if it really was as beautiful as it looked on the pictures.
It was better.
Zening Resorts, you are paradise.
And this our room.Zening Resorts is an environmentally conscious resort that serves locally sourced, organic homemade food (and no red meat or hard liquor).
It’s also a mobile free zone so you have no one chatting away loudly next to you on the phone.
Generally it is such a relaxing place.
Just stepping in you feel the calmness, tranquility and peace.
Yoga and meditation classes are offered all day and you just go to as many as you like.
All the teachers were fantastic and conducted amazing classes.
They supply mats, blocks, towels and anything else you would need.
We would get up at 6:50 everyday to go to the half hour sun salutations before breakfast.
And some relaxing at the pool before the next class.
Everyone was there to relax and recharge which made it so peaceful.
You always got a sun lounger and were mostly alone in the pool (there are two).
It was so nice spending a week alone with my Mum after spending the last three years apart.
We had such a good time bonding, especially over our love for yoga.
The best exercise we did?
Laugh till our stomachs hurt.
We discovered the joy of self timer this holiday…
Zening aim to be as green as possible and prefer their guests to not use water bottles while at the resort.
So they offer (free) jugs of water infused with fruit which is insanely refreshing in the heat. There’s also a juice bar that serves up fresh juices. That match your gym clothes too ;) The whole grounds are really well taken care of, there were outdoor showers everywhere and different places to relax.
Although there’s around 150 rooms (if I remember correctly) it never felt crowded and had a calmness that I’ve never experienced anywhere else.We did a yoga and a mediation class under this tree overlooking the ocean.
I had to pinch myself a few times just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.Meals were always buffet style and you’d sit on a terrace overlooking the ocean. We went to the beach twice, which was empty too, but preferred to hang out at the pool. The hardest part?
Walking up all the stairs after a 1 1/2 hour yoga session!
Ha! Who would’ve thought…
We went out only twice for dinner because it was just so lovely at Zening that we didn’t feel like leaving.
As you can see we stayed healthy even when outside of the hotel ;)
I’m always envious of how well trained, flexible and good looking my Mum is.
I’ve been doing yoga for a few years now and it was such a good experience to spend a week doing 3 1/2 hours of yoga every day.
You can really build up on what you learn and it’s great for improving on meditation.
I can only recommend it.
Especially at Zening.Thank you Mama for sharing this week with me, I had such a good time and hope we can do this again.
(Preferably at Zening Resorts cause man, it was AMAZING!)
