Hummus is one of my favourite snacks.
It’s easy and quick to make, healthy and tastes great with bread, chips and veggies.
I decided to shake it up and add in beetroot for a change in flavour and colour.
I mean the colour is crazy beautiful no?!
Plus it’s a great way to impress people.
Take a simple recipe add a little something to make it look a lot more fancy!
I use Jamie Oliver’s hummus recipe and adapt it depending what I feel like at the moment.
♦ 2x400g cans of chickpeas (save 7 tbsp of the liquid)
♦ 4 tsp tahini
♦ 2 garlic cloves
♦ 1 tsp sea salt
♦ 6 tbsp olive oil
♦ 4 tbsp lemon juice
♦ 1 beet
Rinse the chickpeas in water and add them to the food processor with all the other ingredients, except for the za’atar.
Turn on the food processor and wait until everything is mixed and smooth.
Before serving add some za’atar and optionally drizzle some olive oil on top.
Enjoy with bread, veggies, chips, in your salad, with a spoon…
The possibilities are endless!
